Children such as this young boy encounter traumatic injuries at a young age or are born with complications, changing their lives forever. At only 2 months old, this child was in a terrible car accident. The wreck caused a brain injury leaving him blind and incapable of talking or functioning on his own.
Just take a second, remember your best childhood memories, remember watching your kids run around without a care in the world. Puts a smile on your face, doesn't it? Now think of not having any of that. Think of how much fun you use to have on the playground. Now change the setting to an old hospital bed, no running around with friends, no playgrounds, just you and your nurses. That is their childhood. Dream House wants to give these kids back their childhood. As one of the volunteers says, "every child, perfectly formed or not, deserves a childhood."
Life will never be easy, obstacles will always be thrown at us;
but as a people we will overcome.
